Frequently Asked Questions
What issues do you help with?
I work with adults and couples navigating relationship challenges, anxiety, attachment concerns, life transitions, sexual concerns, grief, burnout, and questions of identity or meaning.
I also support clients who feel disconnected from themselves — even if they can’t fully explain why. Therapy can be a place to gently explore patterns, emotional blocks, or relational dynamics that no longer feel aligned.
In addition to general counselling, I offer support for psychedelic integration and depth-oriented personal growth.
Do you offer couples counselling in Nanaimo?
Yes. I provide couples therapy in Nanaimo, BC, as well as online via Zoom.
My work with couples is informed by attachment-based approaches, including emotionally focused therapy, and the developmental model as well as sex therapy. We focus on strengthening emotional safety, deepening communication, and shifting the patterns that keep partners feeling stuck or distant.
Do you offer online therapy in British Columbia?
Yes. I offer online counselling via Zoom for clients throughout British Columbia.
Online therapy can be just as effective as in-person sessions and allows you to access support from the comfort and privacy of your own space.
What is your approach to therapy?
My approach is relational, experiential, and depth-oriented. I draw from attachment science, emotionally focused therapy, parts work, somatic awareness, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), sex therapy, and psychedelic-assisted therapy integration.
Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all method, I tailor our work to your needs. I pay close attention to emotional process, nervous system regulation, and the patterns that shape your relationships. Therapy with me is collaborative, paced, and grounded in respect for your inner wisdom.
What is psychedelic integration therapy?
Psychedelic integration therapy provides support before or after non-ordinary states of consciousness. It is not about providing substances, but about helping you process, understand, and meaningfully integrate your experiences into daily life.
Integration work may include exploring emotions, relational shifts, spiritual insights, or challenging material that surfaced. The focus is on grounding insight into sustainable change.
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
I always tell my clients that therapy is like going to the gym not the hospital. You don’t need to be in crisis to begin therapy. Many people seek counselling because something feels “off,” because they want to strengthen their relationships, or because they are ready for deeper self-understanding.
If you’re curious about working together, a consultation can help you get a sense of fit. Feeling safe and understood is one of the strongest predictors of meaningful change.
What are your credentials?
I hold a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology (MC) and am a Certified Canadian Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.
Where are you located?
I offer in-person counselling in Nanaimo, BC, and online therapy for clients across British Columbia via Zoom.
What are your fees for counselling?
Couples counselling is $185 per 60 minutes. Individual counselling is $165 per 60 minutes. 90 minute and 2 hour appointments are also available.
Do you offer direct billing?
Yes. I am able to direct bill to:
-
Pacific Blue Cross
-
Sun Life
If you are covered under one of these providers for counselling or psychotherapy services, I can submit claims on your behalf.
What if I have coverage through another insurance provider?
If you are insured through a provider other than Pacific Blue Cross or Sun Life, you would pay for your session at the time of service and then submit your receipt to your insurance company for reimbursement.
Many extended health benefit plans in British Columbia provide coverage for counselling or psychotherapy services under a Certified Canadian Counsellor (CCC). I recommend checking directly with your provider to confirm:
-
Whether counselling or psychotherapy is covered
-
The amount of coverage available per year
-
Whether services provided by a CCC are eligible
I am a Certified Canadian Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association, which is recognized by many insurance providers.
