People often leave surprised by how easy it was to talk to me.
about anna
I've been able to feel what's happening under the surface since I was a young child - the thing that isn't being said, the pattern underneath the pattern, the emotion sitting just beneath the surface of a conversation. It's not something I learned in a textbook. It's something I brought to the textbook, and then learned to trust.
After years of sitting with people in their most tender, complex, and courageous moments, I still feel the privilege of it. To be trusted with someone's inner world - their relationship, their stuck places, their becoming - that's a privilege I hold with real care.
The people I work with
I work mostly with high-functioning adults and couples. People who care enough about their lives and relationships to invest real time and attention in them. People who want to live with intention rather than from reaction.
I often tell my clients that therapy is like going to the gym, not the hospital. You don't have to be broken to benefit from it. You just have to be willing to show up and do the work.
The people I work with aren't broken. They're paying attention.
What it's like to be in the room with me
Clients often tell me they felt both at ease and surprised. At ease because I'm warm and nothing is rushed. Surprised because I actually engage - with what's happening, what's stuck, and what's ready to move. I'm gentle but I'm active. I'll interrupt when we're spinning. I'll redirect when we're stuck in a loop. And I'll hold us still when we touch something so true it needs to be sat with rather than rushed past. I read the room, and I let each moment call forward what's needed.
I'm not afraid to go where the conversation needs to go - the deep places, the tender ones, the ones you've been circling for years. I can hold all of it.
Sometimes we laugh. Therapy isn't a solemn endeavour. All of you is welcome here.
People often leave a session looking a little dazed - like their world has been gently upended, or like they can see more clearly and aren't quite sure what to do with it yet. I love that moment. It usually means something shifted. My hope is that you walk away feeling more fully yourself. Like more of who you are is back online and accessible again.
